Henderson City Attorney Elizabeth Quillin was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Henderson on Monday afternoon.
Quillin,51, was booked into the Henderson Detention Center at 3:57 p.m. on Monday for suspicion of DUI – 1st offense, leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle and property damage, and having an open container in the vehicle.
She was held on a $3,516 bond and is scheduled to make her initial court appearance on Wednesday afternoon.
Quillin was appointed to her post in June 2009 after two years in the civil division of the Henderson City Attorney's Office, where she specialized in matters of real estate and land use. Prior to joining the city of Henderson, she was an assistant county manager in Clark County and had also worked as the Southern Nevada Regional Chief Deputy Attorney General and as a city attorney for Las Vegas. She has also been a public defender.
As City Attorney, Quillin is charged with representing and providing legal advice to the mayor, city council and city government. She also supervises the city's criminal and civil divisions, alternative sentencing program and victims' assistance program.
